Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect for my first visit?
As a new patient you can expect a comprehensive dental exam, cleaning, and necessary radiographs needed to properly diagnose your oral health. If you plan on using dental insurance, our team will reach out to you prior to your first visit to properly coordinate your financial benefits.
It’s my child’s first visit to the dentist! What can I expect?
At Metro Dental, we have a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and compassionate team that treat children of all ages! Please prepare your child by letting them know that the dentist will be looking at their teeth and making sure they are healthy. Our experienced doctors and team will make sure your child has a fun and positive experience at the dentist.
I’m having a dental emergency, what can I do?
Dental emergencies are unexpected and we’re here to help. We usually are able to see dental emergencies within 24 hours of you contacting us and we will do everything we can to see you as quickly as possible.
Do you take my insurance?
At Metro Dental, we participate with most dental PPOs and process all dental claims on your behalf. If you have dental insurance, it’s likely that your exams, cleanings, and x rays will have little or no out-of-pocket cost at our office. Because there are many different dental plans, feel free to reach out to our office so we can give you information regarding your specific dental plan.
I don’t have dental insurance. Do I have any options to make dental treatment more affordable?

We believe that high quality dentistry is essential and should be affordable for everyone. If you do not currently have dental insurance, we are pleased to offer an in-office membership through Kleer. Your membership will include your exams and cleanings every 6 months, all necessary x-rays, emergency visits, and unlock discounted fees for treatment. Learn more about Kleer.

How do I get to your office?
We are located at 300 Columbus Avenue, conveniently located across the street from the Crestwood Metro North train station. Our office is easily accessible off the Bronx River Parkway.
How Often Should I Visit Your Office?
For most patients, we recommend twice-yearly visits for cleanings and examinations. If you are currently being treated for a particular concern, we may recommend that you visit us more often.
I snore. Can you make me a mouthpiece to help?
Snoring can sometimes be a symptom of a serious condition called sleep apnea. If you snore and also notice that you have trouble with daytime fatigue or drowsiness, mood swings, and headaches, call your physician to be evaluated for sleep apnea. We can provide you with a comfortable mouthpiece that will open up your airway while you sleep. More oxygen is allowed to enter the bloodstream, and both you and your significant other will rest easier.
I can’t wear my CPAP. Do you make a dental appliance alternative?
Yes! If you are unable to tolerate CPAP our doctor can fit you for an oral appliance as an alternative to CPAP. Dr. Davis is the only Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine in Westchester County and is highly experienced in sleep dentistry.
I recently had X-rays at my previous dentist. Do I need to have x-rays again as a new patient?
At Metro Dental, we believe in only taking x-rays when they are necessary. If you have an upcoming new patient visit, we can arrange for your previous dentist to send us your radiographs. We will only take updated radiographs if they are out of date (generally over 1 year old).
